Experience Supporting Education and Behavior Change

The Healthy Brain Initiative requires translating complex health topics into clear, supportive, and actionable messaging for individuals and families. Our role is to develop education-focused materials and outreach strategies that reduce stigma, build understanding, and encourage proactive behaviors. This work emphasizes clarity, empathy, and accessibility, recognizing that audiences vary widely in health literacy and access to information.

This approach directly aligns with the WIC program, where success depends on effective nutrition education, supportive messaging, and helping families understand how WIC services contribute to healthy pregnancies, infants, and young children.

Family and Caregiver-Centered Messaging

Healthy Brain Initiative planning places strong emphasis on families and caregivers, recognizing that health decisions are often made within a household context. Messaging is designed to be practical, respectful, and supportive of individuals balancing caregiving responsibilities, limited time, and access barriers.

This same family-centered mindset is foundational to WIC outreach. Our experience shaping messaging that supports families through education rather than pressure prepares us to deliver nutrition education and enrollment messaging that feels approachable, trustworthy, and relevant.

Reliable Execution Across Statewide Programs

The Healthy Brain Initiative requires coordination across South Dakota, including rural communities, underserved populations, and culturally diverse audiences. HenkinSchultz manages this complexity through structured project management, clear timelines, and consistent collaboration with Department of Health stakeholders. Planning efforts often involve multiple workstreams moving simultaneously, requiring dependable execution and proactive communication.

This level of coordination reflects the operational reliability needed to support a statewide WIC outreach effort with ongoing education, materials development, and media support.

Data-Informed Outreach and Continuous Improvement

Once launched, Healthy Brain Initiative outreach will be supported by data-informed decision-making. HenkinSchultz will monitor engagement, audience response, and performance metrics to inform ongoing refinements to messaging and delivery strategies.

This same approach will be applied to WIC outreach, allowing nutrition education and communication efforts to evolve over time based on audience behavior and program needs, supporting stronger engagement and program participation.
