Virtual Events & Live ProductionEvents

Bringing Virtual Events and Live Production Together in a Harmonious Way

Event planning is in our blood. For many years, we have put on all sorts of live events, from concerts to conferences. With the emergence of virtual presentations and an increase in demand for online engagement, we found the key to producing a successful virtual event. You need to have the right processes–and the right team working side-by-side with you. Preparing for a Live Virtual Event Virtual events are a lot like in-person events–they require a lot of preparation. We are event planners by nature. When working with a client, like the SDSU Foundation, we create nearly everything for the…

Using Creative Talents to Do Good and Help Feed the Hungry

Much of what HS does is not just advertising, but helping to solve problems. As all this reality was setting in, HenkinSchultz Founder Kirby Schultz challenged our team with the question, “What can we do in the community?” “How can we help solve a problem?” You Are All Essential The “You Are All Essential” campaign began with the idea that everyone is essential right now, as human beings, teachers, office workers, delivery persons, parents and in whatever contribution you’re making in life, work and to others. As frontline workers, health care workers and others get the attention they rightly deserve…

Celebrating 28 Years in Advertising at HenkinSchultz

Happy 28th Anniversary to HenkinSchultz On September 30th, 1991, HenkinSchultz started out from a small, makeshift office space in downtown Sioux Falls. On that day, the creative minds of President & Co-Founder Kirby Schultz and Joe Henkin joined forces at their first meeting as an official advertising agency. Over the years, Joe and Kirby consistently hired thinkers — smart, creative talent passionate about turning ideas into something that changes people. Flashforward to 28 years later, and their shared hiring philosophy from early days continues. Our team has grown to 22 folks who love finding creative solutions for our clients. Now…

Inspiring Dreams Through Event Production

South Dakota State University has a lot to celebrate this year. The campus, enrollment and community impact all continue to grow. And none of that is possible without the SDSU Foundation. HenkinSchultz was tasked with the challenge of entertaining and inspiring at this year’s donor event. Live Production in the New Performing Arts Center When you’ve produced a show in the same venue through the years, you tend to get used to how things are done. You know the room’s challenges. You know the space you work in. You know everything down to where the last outlet is located. Then…

Celebrating the Art of Storytelling through Event Marketing

What does an Indiana seed company have in common with Nashville? Quite a bit actually. Like Nashville, Midwest Seed Company has always been good at storytelling. Midwest Seed took to the streets of Nashville to celebrate with clients and host a weekend of storytellers. HenkinSchultz helped with event marketing and branding the entire ‘Funseekers’ experience. What Exactly is Funseekers? Funseekers is a program Midwest Seed developed years ago. You could say it’s a thank you trip for their customers and prospects, but it’s a lot more than that. “Our Funseekers trips are really about living up to our customer focus…

HS at CES!

The Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas is where all the hottest new gear and accessories in the tech world debut. HenkinSchultz had two employees at the convention this year helping Screenflair with pitches to retailers and distributors, and assisting with a product party that was held on the third night of the convention for interested potential partners and consumers. Screenflair is a new company that sells patented, changeable/reusable screen protectors with designs that go around, and even on, your screen – they fade away when your phone comes on, creating a cool accent for all your favorite apps and…

A Visual Show Celebrating The SDSU Alumni Green

The South Dakota State University Foundation and Alumni Association recently completed their Alumni Green project, creating the first space on campus specifically for alumni to gather and reminisce, with both indoor and outdoor spaces for SDSU visitors to enjoy. An event of this magnitude required a proper celebratory kickoff, and HS was happy to step up and dazzle the over 1200 alumni, students, administrators and faculty that were in attendance with an unforgettable visual show. We were able to bring history to life, using a historic part of campus as an unorthodox projection canvas. The 165 foot tall Campanile –…
