Bree LeBrun knows very well that Account Coordinator is a busy and important position. We talked with Bree about how she got into the industry and what she is doing to further her education and profession – while balancing some down time and trying new things.
Tell us about your school and career path that lead you into advertising?
For the first three years of my college career I was undecided on what I wanted to do. The only thing I was sure of was that I wanted a job where everyday was different and where I was able to be creative.
My junior year of my undergraduate program I took Principles of Marketing, and three weeks in, I knew I was hooked. I ended up graduating with a degree in Business Communications (my account coordinator side), with a degree in Psychology (my problem-solving, interpersonal skills side), a minor in French (my creative side), and with an internship in marketing copywriting under my belt. I am also currently working on an MBA with an emphasis in Marketing. You can often find me studying and writing APA formatted papers in my free time.
My time at HS has solidified my love for the field of marketing, and I can’t wait to grow and learn more from the people around me!
What are some of your personality or personal skills you try to bring to the role of Account Coordinator?
Two personal skills I try to bring to every meeting are an open mind and a smile. I always try to be open to new ideas in my position. Leading with a can-do attitude is always best for our clients and what they are looking to achieve.
Second, my favorite saying is “kindness is a gift everyone can afford,” and I want to be a joyful part of my clients’ day. I want them to feel just as excited as I am to be a voice for their business.
Are there specific tasks or projects you find especially rewarding?
Honestly, I find all of my projects rewarding, but if I had to pick, I would say my favorite projects are the ones where I’m able to exercise my creativity and have some fun while doing so.
Coordinating photoshoots, working with clients on big ideas, and finding a creative solution to marketing problems are just about as fun as a job for me can get! I also love working for the “underdogs” in a market because there’s so much room for potential and helping them grow is very special.
What would you tell a client or prospect about the team at HS?
I would tell a client that they are in great hands. The HS team is made up of some of the best the marketing field has to offer. Our ideas are bold, we like to have fun, and our clients are our #1 priority.
Some of the biggest laughs I’ve ever had have been in this building – every day is a new challenge that we all face collectively and with a smile on our faces! 🙂
When you have days off, how do you like to spend them?
On my days off I like to read on my Kindle, take my dog Cooper to the dog park, nap with my cat Tigger, and spend time with my grandparents here in Sioux Falls.
I also try to do one thing I normally wouldn’t do every weekend – whether that’s with a friend or on my own. Last weekend I tried Pad Thai!
