As a creative company, HenkinSchultz knows one of the hardest things to do these days is get people’s attention. For the past 11 years, HS has been getting the attention of 69th and Western traffic with its elaborate Christmas windows displays. And we’re not just talking lights and garland.

Making Art Out of Our Space

HS debuted their window videos Tuesday evening much to the delight of passers by. This year’s video features everything from the Augustana Orchestra to crazy Christmas carolers, mysterious monsters, a car-driving dog and even a high-flying ninja. The advertising agency also set up a ‘radio’ station, (101.5), so drivers can tune in and listen to all the action from their cars. The display also features:

  • Our HS Sign Shop guys prepping the windows
  • HS staff dancing and creating art
  • A fun “hamster stacking” animation

“We look forward to doing this display every year. It’s a creative way to use our space and show that art can live anywhere, people really take notice when there is something fun happening in your windows. It’s also just a nice thing to give to the community during Christmas.”

says President Kirby Schultz.

Challenging Ourselves With “I Wonder If”

Schultz adds the window display tradition began years ago by questioning “I wonder if this could work.” What started as an experiment has evolved into a way of demonstrating what HS does daily – communicating marketing in an artful way.

Besides that, the annual display has become a neighborhood must-see for its beauty, its quirkiness and its impressive use of technology. “Coordinating the video scenes with the graphics and music all to appear inside a real space is a great challenge. And our team always tries to outdo ourselves each year.”

Swing by and check it out live at 6201 S. Pinnacle Place, just west of 69th and Western in Sioux Falls. HS plans to leave the display running through the end of the year.

The Spirit of Christmas!

The smile in the eyes of a child, the warm embrace of a stranger, the sense that somehow, no matter what’s happening in the world around us, there is love, there is hope and there is joy. That’s the Spirit of Christmas. The Spirit of Christmas cannot be manufactured, packaged, or sold. It can only be felt in the heart. And perhaps more importantly, it can be shared. During the holiday season, it’s easy to get wrapped up in the hustle of hosting and bustle of buying, but perhaps it’s even more important to slow down and enjoy the best…

5 Ways You Get When You Give

The Holidays. You either love the hustle and bustle, or you count down the days until life returns to normal. The madness reaches a crescendo late in December but doesn’t fully end until the world has slept off its holiday hangover sometime after January 2. And beyond the personal obligations, there are corporate parties and end-of-year deadlines. In our rush to celebrate, the spirit of the holidays can be easily lost. As a business owner, the holidays are a good time to take a breath, take a step back and take the opportunity to do something good - for the…
