HenkinSchultz was proud to once again partner with the Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce for the production of their annual Chamber Meeting show. This event, the largest business show in the state with over 1500 people in attendance, offers a unique opportunity for members to celebrate the business accomplishments from the past year and preview the Chamber’s vision for the upcoming year.
The theme this year, conceived and developed by HS co-founder and president Kirby Schultz, was “Building On a Great Foundation.” Center stage at the Sioux Falls Convention Center was draped in black, but for what appeared to be a small screen. As the main show kicked off, the draping was dramatically torn away – lighting and backdrops rose from out of the floor, and an incredible show began with images projected onto a 120-foot wide screen.
Kirby worked on this project for several months, and enlisted Jacobi Calloway of the Dance Gallery of South Dakota for a unique integrated stage and visual performance piece that incorporated the theme with still and moving images of famous Sioux Falls landmarks, all interacting with both the real dancer on-stage, and silhouetted dancing imagery of Ms. Calloway that was captured in the HS Studio by our video production team.
The results were breathtaking. Check out the video below for a taste of the rehearsal process and a little bit of the final show.
The visual show was choreographed to an original song written by Kirby Schultz, Keith Brown and Kent Fieldsend, and performed by recording artist Michael Johnson. The song – “Our Town” – set the perfect tone for the spirit of the evening, with the chorus striking just the right note for the event:
Our town has given us a lot
Now it’s our turn to give back what we got
Relevant lyrics from the song, along with words and phrases that accentuated the imagery and reinforced the theme were also shown on-screen through the presentation.
”I keep getting very positive feedback from those in attendance at the annual meeting. You and your team were just fantastic to work with. The set was beautiful and really set the tone for the evening.”– Jason Ball, PresidentPresident/CEO Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce
