Tis the season for gift wrapping, holiday baking, last-minute shopping and trekking across the miles to visit family and friends. It’s not surprising that we bring the holidays to work with us, and the stress can be overwhelming. Lighten up – and share some cheer during the most wonderful time of the year with some easy-to-manage festivities that let co-workers celebrate, laugh and enjoy wonderful people they spend so much of their lives with. At HenkinSchultz, 2014 marks our “15th Annual Treat Day Countdown to Holiday Extravaganza” – a celebration of food, friends & wonderment & peppermint. To make this as much fun as possible, we divide and conquer. During the weeks leading up to Christmas, we steal away to the Pomp Room (the HS version of a meeting room) for food, friends, and – you guessed it – holiday fun. The staff is broken up into small groups, each providing the goodies for one day. These days not only provide a little break, but are a perfect time to share some of HenkinSchultz urban legends with the new kids on the block. Our over-the-top creative teams have come up with some great themes and treats over the years. This year, we kicked off the festival with Nacho Ordinary Thursday – a taco bar lunch with a Latin crunch. And there may even be a toast now and then. No matter what sorts of activities you plan for your organization this season, remember that the holidays don’t happen only outside your office doors. A little laughter and good cheer go a long way to relieving holiday stress and creating a sense of family within your company that will carry you all through the year.
