Ad of the Week: Cheesy Advertising

Maybe it's because I'm hungry or maybe it's my need for cheese, but this week's ad of the week is brought to you by Kraft Singles. Grilled cheese sandwiches are part of a food grouping I call: an American childhood staple. I grew up dipping my grilled-to-perfection, steamy-melted cheese sandwiches into a bowl of my mother's freshly home-made tomato soup (if you've never experienced a wonder like that, you're doing it wrong). Kraft has brought that memory back to us in .gif form. Now, as we frantically search for information on Yahoo, a savory image of a smokin' grilled cheese…

Why referral marketing still works.

Referral marketing. Ever heard of it? I'm positive you have heard of it or have participated in some sort of referral program. You know, the ones that say 'Refer a friend and get 50% off your next product'. The people that utilize this form of marketing understand the power of word of mouth. Referrals continue to be a driving force behind increasing sales, and learning to harness this idea is something that any businessperson can do. Word-of-mouth marketing has always been one of the most powerful forms of advertising out there, good and bad. Now with the digital age in…

Ad of the Week: Banana Boat for Men

The grass is mowed, the golf polo is purchased and the steaks are seasoned. The only thing my dad is waiting on now is his kids' arrival. Branding

Three reasons your brand is failing

There you are. Sitting, waiting, wishing customers would come flooding through your doors, all your products and services would sell like hot cakes and you could finally buy the dream island in the Caribbean you've always wanted. Pretty dreamy right? So what is the problem and where is the disconnect? Take a step back and check out your branding efforts. Branding is a tricky little beast and is always changing and evolving. While those two words, changing and evolving, may be considered bad words in your book, they are two of the most important aspects to the survival and longevity…

Ad of the Week: Safety Dance 2K14

It brings me great joy to present to you the ad of the week this week! In honor of my travels to Nashville, I am excited to share one of my favorite viral digital ads that has no shame in putting some flare in the air! This past spring, Virgin America Airlines managed to spike the interest of 5.8 million YouTube viewers to watch airline safety. How did they do you this you ask? Well, they took the mostly boring, monotonous safety reading procedure that is required before every flight and turned it into an entertaining and very impressive song…
